Hi, my name is Anasthasia.
I graduated from Yale University in 2023, where I double-majored in Chemistry (BS) and Art (BA) on a full scholarship through the Questbridge match program. I was heavily involved in multiple student publications spanning a variety of topics during my time there (both as creative director and core contributor). I was also an undergraduate researcher in multiple labs that studied very different things.
A lot of people ask me if I make art about chemistry or, the other way around, study the chemistry of art—I don't! However, both in academic and creative endeavors, I learned that I value high-impact collaborations and especially working on cross-disciplinary teams.
Upon graduating, I began a 2-year rotational research program at AstraZeneca. You can read more about that program here. At AZ, I have been applying my background to problems in structural biology and computational chemistry. My first 8-month rotation focused on studying subcellular localization of AKT-pathway proteins using targeted proteomics. Then I worked on creating and evaluating models/workflows to help identify novel molecular glue protein targets. Currently I am working on creating a GNN-based scoring function for predicted antibody-antigen complexes. I am currently in the Boston area.
I have followed a very non-traditional path to get to where I am today, and I don't expect the future to be any different. I am starting a Biophysics PhD program at Stanford University this Fall(2025). If you're interested in having me join your group or talking about my current/past work, please reach out to me at anasthasiashilov@gmail.com or anasthasia.shilov@aya.yale.edu (and feel free to glance at my CV through the front page of this website). I'll be in the San Francisco Bay area this summer.
